1 year agoSmoked, NOTNot a good beer. To malty, bacon flavor is gone in two weeks. Just a lot of hype for a little 30ml of additive.December 13, 2016Purchased
1 year agobacon beerI was making it and the table broke so I didn't get to make it!!July 22, 2016Nice KitThis was my first attempt at all grain. I had previously done the Bacon Smoked Ale as an extract kit, which received rave reviews. Not sure how this will turn out. Still needs another week + in bottle conditioning. Initial tests and tastes indicate this will be a good brew, too.June 13, 2016
- Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 2 answersI plan to brew this beer very soon. I'm thinking of adding the bacon extract at bottling instead of flame out. Would there be a reason to not do this?BEST ANSWER: i WOULD BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE AMOUNT ADDED - I USED IT AT FLAME OUT AND THE FLAVOR IS A BIT OVER POWERING FOR THE BEER.
i THINK ADDING IT BEFORE BOTTLING MAY PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ADD SMALLER AMOUNTS AND TEST THE FLAVOR INSTEAD OF ADDING THE ENTIRE VIAL AT FLAME OUT
