Clears mead must wonderfully!
I use this product to clarify my mead must (honey and fruit juice) after the initial fermentation. I rack from a large fermentation cask into a six gallon glass carboy. Four tablespoons dissolved into a pint of warm water; stir the must and pour this into the carboy. The next day the Bentonite mix has settled and I see bright clear melomel ready to keg.

How much bentonite do you make for one gallon of wine?
A shopper on Mar 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Try 1/4 teaspoon for white wine. Stir the next day and wait until it settles.
Is this product classified as sodium bentonite or calcium bentonite?
A shopper on May 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This product is not rated pure, so likely is a mixture of calcium and sodium ions, and is not rated for internal use. It is only recommended for use as a fining agent/additive in winemaking.
