Product Details

The Thrumometer is an in-line thermometer, ideal for measuring the temperature of your wort outflow from a counterflow chiller. The interior of this thermometer is mirror smooth, providing no places for bacteria to hide.

This thermometer responds very quickly (1°F per second), has 1°F precision, and 0.5°F accuracy. It never needs calibrating. If you use a highly-efficient counterflow wort chiller, the Thrumometer will help you avoid over-chilling your wort, and will save water. This instrument is made from a head-treated highly corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy that will last a lifetime!

Note: Requires 1/2" ID tubing. Should not be used with liquids exceeding 140°F.

Excellent, necessary for proper control over Therminator.
This works great with the Therminator. So well, in fact, that the unit is almost useless without it. The Thrumometer reads temp very quickly, making it easy to adjust wort flow rate as you collect. Without it you're pretty much guessing. In my opinion this should be included with the Therminator, at least as a bundle.

What is the shipping weight?

Not sure what the slant is here but mine weighs in at 100 grams/3 1/2 ounces according to the old cuisinart gravity meter. If that weight tips your shipping charges into a go/no go purchase decision, there are free shipping sales providers of fine brewing gear on the old internet.
What is the temperature range of this device? I need an inline thermometer that measures outflow temp from 32 deg F. To 212 deg F.

BEST ANSWER: I think the max and not recommended though it 120F. It's more for when you get it chilled down through a plate chiller or with an IC and to see what the temp is going into the fermenter AFTER chilling.
States should not be used for liquids exceeding 140F. If I'm going from boil to chilling, this sounds like a problem. Am I missing something?

Thank you for choosing Northern Brewer! The ThruMometer is meant to be attached after the chiller so that you can monitor the temperature that your wort is coming out of the chiller which should be below 100 degrees. It allows you to slow or speed up the flow of wort through the chiller so that you can cool the wort to perfect pitching temperature. I hope that this helps!
