- Impaling your senses with complex flavors, Bloodthirsty Saison is a remix of the perennially classic Saison style. A savage dose of blood orange puree adds additional fierce citrus character to complement the estery, spicy and peppery tones spawned by the traditional Saison yeast strain. The result is a fantastically rustic ale featuring a pristine deep golden color, a ferociously brilliant white head, and an unrelenting dry finish.

Learn MoreBrowse 2 questions Browse 2 questions and 5 answersso I racked the beer on top of the puree in secondary a few days ago. no signs of any active fermentation. is all ok?BEST ANSWER: Yes it’s fine. You might want to consider dry hopping another oz of hops (I forgot what the main hop was). Grab some at your local home brew shop. (I buy hops in 8oz packets so I always have extra hops around. I also brew a lot!!!) I did this and it was amazing! I dry hopped at 7 days.

I am trying to decide whether to dump the blood orange puree in the primary fermenter at the 2 week point, or rack on top of the puree in a secondary fermentor. What do you think? Also, is the puree put in strictly on a time basis at two weeks, or when the specific gravity has stabilized?BEST ANSWER: I would rack the beer on top of the puree in secondary once you have reached a stable gravity.- Reply
