Great for parties
Works great. Although it did take me a minute to get the hang of it.

Be prepared when that CO2 or Nitrogen tanks runs empty on you but the party must continue. Slip one of these soda keg chargers on your rig and keep pouring. Saved my butt a couple of ties already. Just keep a couple of O2 or N2 cartridges on hand and you'll never stop pouring.

Works OK
Got this from NB for Christmas, didn't come with any documentation but I didn't figure it was rocket science. Only problem was that I used a 16g CO2 cartridge (which looked like it was the right size for it) and when I screwed it down the cheap plastic on the bottom cracked and started bulging out. It still works as far as I can tell but doesn't look great. I used it on a one gallon soda keg and it seemed to work fine except I put too much pressure on it. Heading to the hardware store now to grab some fittings and a little pressure gauge to add on so I don't make that mistake again. Other than that I think it works as it should.

Not Compatable
Per an answer from a review saying this would be compatable with oxygenation wand for purging wort with CO2 I bought this However, the fittings don't sink, should of purchased co2 converter instead

This products only recommended use is with 16G co2 cartridges for sealing and dispensing from a keg. It has 1/4" threading. It could be used all on its own to feed CO2 into a carboy but not with an oxygenation wand. Simply insert cartridge

with nothing else attached to the charger

and dispense. This might use up a whole cartridge but would work in theory. Customer service guarantees returns within 30 days but are usually pretty flexible. I could probably set that up for Jeff from here. Let us know!

A lot of promise .. but didn't live up to expectations
Put together a cooler with a 2 gal keg and a tap. Didn't want to bring my co2 tank with so I brought this. Keg was already pressurized/carbonated before I left. I got a whopping 2 or maybe 3 beers per cartridge. At the end of the night I had to take the lid off the keg and pour directly into cups. I would not recommend this product. For the record .. no, there was not a CO2 leak in my system.

Extremely Convenient... Too Convenient
This is a fantastic and well made little device that hooks up to your keg. There is not enough pressure to force carbonate, but it delivers enough to perfectly feed a 5 gallon keg. It also has a side effect of making my kegs more easily moved, so I could bring one to a friends house for a gathering without having to haul a tank, and a regulator etc... Highly recommended! I also get more carbonations from my 5 lb tank because I use this little guy to feed, it's the perfect companion.

Works great
I use more as a backup to my 5 gal. Tank.

great device, but needs some tweaking for use with the smaller cartidges. Solution here.
I love this thing! But there are some caveats which i have a solution for, for you.#1 it works with the smaller c02 cartridges which are cheaper and easier to get. HOWEVER the chassis isn't designed for them and although they DO work, they don't fit well enough for a proper seal.BUT if you slide 1 standard sized cotton ball into the bottom of the handle/housing this will provide enough support/soft pressure to make a good seal. I broke my first one because I had to torque the chassis/distributor seal so hrd it literally snapped in two. Then I bought another one, shaking my head at my own stupidity, and came up with a solution to what was obviously the problem the first time around. So to sum up: 1 -awesome device. I force carb with my 5lb tank and serve with this.2 - if you opt for the smaller, cheaper, more convenient cartridges, put a cotton ball in the bottom of the handle to make up the space.

Works just like you wanted it to. I force carbonate with the large tank and dispense with this.

Great backup
I keep this thing and a few cartridges in my camping gear for the sad air-head occassions where I neglect to check the level on my tanks....It can be tough finding food grade cartridges if you live in a rural area though.

Can I use this to form a CO2 blanket over a batch?
Raymon A on Feb 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not, it may take a whole cartridge or 2 to do it though which would be a fairly expensive option. I've used it in a pinch when my CO2 tank ran out and my kegs absorbed the CO2 and I needed to keep them pressurized.
Does this come with an initial cartridge or will I need to buy the first one?
Raymon A on Feb 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Soda Keg CO2 charger does not come with a cartridge in it. However, we do sell these cartridges as a 6 pack SKU: 5317. Cheers!
Can threaded and non threaded CO2 cartridges be used with this one? I know some brands are for only threaded...
Matthew P on Jan 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The cartridges I got with my order were non threaded, I have not used my CO2 charger as yet. There is not a lot of product info with the unit...like how to assemble and use it.
Why do you have to buy a separate threaded connector to hook up to your keg co2 line?
John T on Oct 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The 1/4" female fitting on charger is meant to be screwed onto the 1/4" male fitting on a Ball or Pin Lock Disconnect. This disconnect goes onto your keg so you can use the charger to pressurize your keg. I don't use it that way, however. I bought it for CO2 purging of carboys, kegs, and starting siphons.
Two questions. First. what's the little, red thing that's opposite the trigger for? Second, I've read other reviews on other websites that say that you have to use threaded co2 cartridges. The ones I bought from you are not threaded. Will they work?
K E on Oct 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Threadless cartridges work in this unit as well...the body will hold the threadless cartridge in place so it does work for both kinds. I honestly have no idea what the little red tab is for..this item is manufactured for pumping bike tires.
