Product details

Dieter is a clean, crisp, traditional German Kösch strain. A very low ester profile makes this strain perfect for Kösch, Alt and other light colored delicate beers. Dieter has better flocculation characteristics than most Kösch strains which allows brewers to produce clean, bright beers in a shorter amount of time.

*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

4 Months old when used, worked great

It was a couple of months old when I received it and I couldn't use it for over another month after that. So when I finally used it, it was 4 months old. I did make a starter so I could harvest some for another batch, but when I pitched it it took off strong just 12 hours later. Great kolsch strain, tastes great.

Imperial Dieter G03

This is an amazing yeast. 3rd time using G03 for a Kolsch. Always performs well and this time in had an active ferment 6 hours after pitching. Just finished kegging/bottling 6 gallons of Kölsch and the taster from my test tube was clean, crisp and clear. This time there were some nice subtle hints of banana on the nose and palate. We will see if it comes thru after lagering a bit in the keg. So far I have used lImperial's A31 Tartan, A10 Darkness, A09 Pub, A01 House and A07 Flagship all with great success. Never have had a bad experience with Imperial yeast and plan to do more beers with it. Thank you Northern Brewer!

Hit the mark

Used this for a first brew of an altbier. Delivered with a delightful finish for my recipe. I would like to try Dieter with a kolsch.

Dieter is a Monster!

This beast is for way, way more than Kolsch. We've used this monster for everything from big tropical stouts and Imperial stouts to American Wheat Ales with great results.
