Brewer's Gloves - Insulated Waterproof PVC Lined Gloves
These waterproof PVC lined Brewer’s Gloves help you work with mash grains by protecting your hands from high temperatures. The material and design of the gloves allow for effective handling and squeezing of the hot grain bag. Can be used when removing grain bag from extract kit brews, or for BIAB brew days. Gloves extend to mid forearm.
Keep your hands safe on brew day with these waterproof Brewer's gloves.
These work great for BIAB. No problem during mash (~152F), during boil (212F), or squeezing my bag (also ~150+F).
The materials are tough and definitely handle the heat, but are quite large. I'm 5'11 and wear size large gloves, but with these my fingers and thumb have about an inch of space left in the fingers of the glove. They still work, but tasks that require any dexterity are out.
These aren't as thick as I had hoped but they work surprisingly well. Wearing them, I was able to hold and squeeze 2 pounds of grains in a bag for several minutes before getting uncomfortably warm. Overall, it was a good purchase and I'll buy again if/when these wear out.
These gloves are both waterproof and heat resistant, meaning you can handle hot things with them for a few seconds. I got them so I could give my bag of steeping grains a big long squeeze after pulling them from a kettle of hot water. They are also useful for washing and sanitizing brewing equipment, keeping your hands dry and comfortable in hot water.
I also find them useful for lifting my brew kettle by the handles when they are hot. Note that these are not oven mitts and don't claim to be. If you try to, for example, pick up a hot stove grate they might start to melt. Don't ask me how I know this.
Work as advertised. Watertight, comfortable, and I didn't burn myself...
