Product details

Quickly cool larger batches down to yeast pitching temperature and reduce the chance of contamination. 50’ copper coil construction transfers heat more efficiently than other chiller materials and is easy to clean.

We’ve taken our Copperhead Immersion Wort Chiller and added even more cooling power. 50’ of copper tubing combined with proprietary barbed fittings and our innovative drop-angle design, perfect for 10 - 15-gallon batches.

No need to sanitize. Simply drop your clean chiller into the kettle a few minutes before the end of the boil and it will be ready to go. When done, spray clean and let dry.

Brew with peace of mind like never before. Drop-angle connections provide insurance against contamination. Surprise leaks stay outside your kettle and away from cooling wort. Ensure secure tubing with proprietary barbed fittings. Eradicate shooting streams of water that make a mess in your brew cave. Do away with ill-fitting hose clamps on misshapen chiller connections.

Maximize flow and minimize fuss. The Copperhead® Immersion Wort Chiller drop-angle eliminates kinked tubing. No more hassling with propping up water hose. Tubing can now hang tension-free, kink-free and problem-free.

Standard garden hose connection allows for brewing outside or connects to a laundry sink faucet as your chilling water source. Use the optional Faucet Adapter to connect your Copperhead ® to a standard kitchen faucet when brewing inside.

    Great value

As I started increasing my boil size on brew day it became clear I was not going to be able to keep doing the ice baths. This wort chiller gets the job done. I have well water that comes out of the ground about 50 degrees and I think it dropped me down to target temperatures in about 15 minutes. There was a minor leak that needed addressing and I have seen others say the same thing so don’t do what I did… connect it and run prior to dropping into your wort. It was a simple fix and does not affect my review in any way.

    Cool cooler

At first my thought was it would use a ton of water cooling the wort. Took about 8 gallons of water, which I saved for rinsing, and 20 minutes down to temperature, impressive. Recommended.

    It does the job

The performance of the chiller is great when combined with a drill operated plastic blade style wine degasser but there are some issues I’ve experienced that people need to check into if they buy this.

Out of the box, the hose clamps that secure the hot and cold side were so tight that it actually started to kink the copper tubing. I couldn’t help but take them off and place them higher on the tubing in a non-kinked spot to not risk a bad kink during use that would render the chiller useless. I don’t know of a way I can fix the dents on the tubing but flow doesn’t seem bad enough to bother.

The brass compression fittings leaked and had to be tightened which isn’t a big deal but could ruin someone’s day if they didn’t check and turn the water to the chiller on then find out when the connections start dripping tap water into their kettle.

The PVC tubing this comes with tends to collapse at the crimp fitting and will turns to a wet noodle on the hot side during use so make sure you secure it to something when you turn the water on to avoid scalding hot water from going somewhere you don’t want…or better yet, replace it with something actually rated for use with hot water like washing machine line or maybe some heavy silicone tube
