Includes roller assembly, base, and steel hopper - just add a corded electric drill or a crank handle for the ultimate in pre-mash gristing experience. Available as a 2-roller mill or 3-roller mill. The 2-roller model is pictured.

MM2 Package

A heavy-duty, fully-adjustable all-purpose grain mill for homebrewers of all levels and batch sizes. Includes roller assembly, base, and steel hopper with 11 lb. capacity - just use a corded electric drill or add a 1/2" crank handle for a consistently perfect crush every time.

The MM2 boasts a double-roller configuration, with an adjustable gap spacing between the two rollers - this means you can set the gap tighter or coarser to dial in your efficiency and custom tailor the crush to suit your system, sparging or steeping method, and malt from batch to batch.

Roller Assembly Features:

  • 6061 aluminum block frame with two 6" long x 1.5" diameter knurled steel rollers riding on SAE 841 oil-impregnated bronze bushings
  • Adjustable roller gap spacing with 0-0.070" range
  • Dual eccentric gap spacing adjusters built from stainless steel to prevent galling

Hopper Features:

Base Features:

  • Approx. 12 x 12" to fit over standard 5 or 6-gallon buckets
  • Radiused top edges and corners
  • Hand-routed grist window

MM3 Package

The 3-roller option is perfect for large batches or those looking to maximize mash efficiency at any volume. This heavy-duty, triple-roller mill is designed for motorization (can be powered with a corded electric drill) and features an average throughput of 8 lbs./minute and adjustable gap spacing for fine-tuning your crush.

Why three rollers?

The MM-3 crushes all your grain twice with one pass through the mill. It starts with a preliminary crush through the initial fixed gap between the top two rollers and then ends with a pass through the second gap between the drive roller and the bottom third roller. The initial pass slightly flattens the grain, and gets it ready for the next crush that breaks apart the grains and loosens the starch with minimal husk damage.

Includes roller assembly, base, and steel hopper with 11 lb. capacity - just add a corded electric drill or a 1/2" crank handle for the ultimate pre-mash gristing experience.

Roller Assembly Features:

  • 6061 aluminum block frame with three 6" long x 1.5" diameter knurled steel rollers riding on SAE 841 oil- impregnated bronze bushings
  • .060" fixed primary gap, 0-0.065" fully-adjustable secondary gap
  • Dual eccentric gap spacing adjusters built from stainless steel to prevent galling
  • 1/2" integral drive shaft with 3 flats for drill driving
  • 2" long outside frame
  • 1/2" integral axles
  • 8 lbs/min average throughput

Hopper Features:

  • Heavy duty galvanized steel
  • 9" overall height
  • 11.5" x 12.75" opening at the top

The Mill Will Last Forever

If you are a home brewer you'll only buy this once. I purchased the MM3 model.
It takes a bit to assemble all the little bolts and nuts that hold the hopper together, but the instructions were adequate.
I thought I read some reviews that called the base "cheap", however I found it to be just fine. It does appear to be pressed wood, but it was routed, radiused, and finished properly.
I bought feeler gauges on Amazon ($5.99) and used them to set the gap at .042, which seemed to be the right crush for me.
I ran 1 pound of cheap 2 row through the mill several times to clear any oil & shavings. There are oil & shavings on the mill, so make sure you do this.
Did I really need to spend $250.00 to do something that someone else would do for me for free? Probably not, but with this mill I am now able to control this part of the brewing process.

1/2" DRILL NEEDED!

You can read other reviews on mill - its best avaliable for home brewers no question it will last a lifetime. 2 things:
1. You need a 1/2" drill. You most likely only have 3/8" drills around your house FYI. Head over to your local harbor freight and buy 1/2 In. Heavy Duty Variable Speed Reversible Drill $29 (use a 20% coupon easy to find online). Works great on this mill and has a extra handle thing that is nice for holding while milling.
2. Metal shavings. You need to buy a bag of rice or a few pounds of cheap 2 row and run it through over and over 10x or so to "Rinse" the mill. This ruined my first brew day because I didn't rinse enough times and ended up with metal shaving in the bottom of my mash tun.
Otherwise, mill is great. Another tip - use a credit card if you don't have a feeler guage to get a .030 (30 mil) gap which is great for all in one electric or brew in a bag.

Great so far

I've only had the chance to brew one batch so far and I'm two weeks out from trying how it went. On brew day, everything went great. It really didn't take too long to assemble it. When I filled it with grain and ran it the first time, nothing happened, the second or third wheels didn't spin. I realized it was slightly out of alignment and once i eyeballed it to make each side even, it worked great. I bought a feeler gauge, but it would have been nice if some sort of gauge was built in with the mill itself. I'm happy i bought it, I'm looking forward to fresher brew!
