- New Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid
- Universal Harness for Big Mouth Bubblers®
Required but not included:
The Siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler® Plastic fermenter isn't just easier to use. It's better for your beer. Fight oxidation and contamination by keeping your fermenter closed for transfers. Never open the lid to insert an auto-siphon, just turn a valve and you're set. Best of all, you'll have clearer beer. Gently rack liquid from the spout into secondary without disturbing the trub.
Make your brew day easier and your beer better with the siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler®.
The new Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid fits all Big Mouth Bubbler® Fermenters. The Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid is just like a traditional carboy bung, only bigger! Just as easy to sanitize and set in place too. Removable ribbed silicone ring ensures a positive seal to keep out pests, while the non-threaded design allows the lid to move preventing an out-of-control fermentation from dangerously pressurizing your fermenter.
Important Note: Do not fill any Plastic Big Mouth Bubbler® fermenters with very hot liquid - temp should not exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 Celcius)
*Pro Tip: Save your box and use it as a cover for your fermenter!
BIG MOUTH BUBBLER® Product Specifications:
|Capacity:||5 gallon||6.5 gallon|
|Height (w/lid, closed):||22"||23"|
Note: We recommend a soft cloth for cleaning the inside. Standard carboy brushes will scratch plastic fermenters leaving places for grime to hide. A warm cleaning solution will suffice. Do not use hot water on plastic fermenters of any sort. The Big Mouth Bubbler® is compatible with a standard carboy dryer when the dryer is used inverted.
So, I'm coming back into brewing after a five year break. I took a break partly because of time and commitments elsewhere (that just got longer and longer) but mostly because of how much time I spent cleaning equipment... It sucks and you all know it. My fermentors were two 5 gallon glass carboys and all my brew buddies said "plastic sucks, you HAVE to use glass". Well, they're wrong. I love the plastic Big Mouth Bubbler! It's easy to clean, tough, lightweight and stackable. My kitchen is small, I have to be efficient. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the lid and seal WILL NOT STAY PUT! It constantly pops out during active fermentation. Some reviews say that the harness has a flap that holds it in place... Could be, but I can't use the harness because I'm not a rocket surgeon (it's difficult to assemble and connect and I found the balance point when lifting to be way off). So, what do I do you may ask? Blue painter's tape. It sticks good, doesn't leave a residue and comes off easy. And it most definitely will not allow the lid to pop out.
Buy it and make some beer!!!
The above review is for the 6.5 gallon with spigot.
the siphonles feature is great.
The straps for the lid don't do the greatest job of sealing the lid and the buckles really scratch the heck out of the outside of the fermenter.
I’ve got 2 of the 6.5 gallon bubblers and just recently purchased 2 of the 5 gallon bubblers for secondary fermentation. I don’t always secondary but when I want to the 5 gallon bubblers will be perfect. Easy to clean and way safer than glass. I recommend getting them with spigots.
Works very well.
It works great and it is so much quicker and easier to rack my wine. I will be getting another one soon.
