- Universal Harness for Big Mouth Bubblers®
Required but not included:
The Siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler® Plastic isn't just easier to use. It's better for your beer. Fight oxidation and contamination by keeping your fermenter closed for transfers. Never open the lid to insert an auto-siphon, just turn a valve and you're set. Best of all, you'll have clearer beer. Gently rack liquid from the spout into secondary without disturbing the trub.
The new Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid fits all Big Mouth Bubbler® Fermenters. The Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid is just like a traditional carboy bung, only bigger! Just as easy to sanitize and set in place too. Removable ribbed silicone ring ensures a positive seal to keep out pests, while the non-threaded design allows the lid to move preventing an out-of-control fermentation from dangerously pressurizing your fermenter.
Make your brew day easier and your beer better with the siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler®.
*Pro Tip: Save your box and use it as a cover for your fermenter!
Important Note: Do not fill any Plastic Big Mouth Bubbler® fermenters with very hot liquid - temp should not exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 Celcius) 6.5-gallon primary fermenter.
BIG MOUTH BUBBLER® Product Specifications:
|Capacity:||5 gallon||6.5 gallon|
|Height (w/lid, closed):||22"||23"|
Note: We recommend a soft cloth for cleaning the inside. Standard carboy brushes will scratch plastic fermenters leaving places for grime to hide. A warm cleaning solution will suffice. Do not use hot water on plastic fermenters of any sort. The Big Mouth Bubbler® is compatible with a standard carboy dryer when the dryer is used inverted.
For the most part i like it but the harness slips i almost dumped the beer twice
Really enjoyed my first use of the Big Mouth Bubbler for fermentation with my latest home brew batch. I had been using the 5 gal plastic carboy and the upgrade to the Big Mouth Bubbler was a huge improvement to the experience. It was much easier to pitch the yeast with the wide opening and interesting to be able to "watch" the fermentation process thru the clear plastic. Transfer to the bottling bucket was clean and easy with the siphonless valve and the cleanup was a breeze since I could get my whole arm and a sponge inside through the generous sized opening. I am considering ordering another for secondary fermentation brews. Great product!
I wanted to start using secondary fermentation and this is perfect for it. I got the 5 gallon model to minimize head space and the big mouth makes it easy to dry hop. The spigot makes it very easy to transfer to bottling. I am pleased with it and consider it worth the money for sure.
I ordered the “Siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler” to experiment with fermenting for the first time. Ultimately, I decided to return it. Northern Brewer’s return policy is clear and I paid for my own shipping. I just didn’t realize how expensive it would be to ship back such a large package. It made the refund almost worthless. I wouldn’t encourage anyone starting out with fermenting to order from this site because of the high return shipping charges. I did contact customer service to get a refund since it hadn’t arrived after some weeks and they refunded me promptly.
Seems to be working fine. Used it today for the first time as secondary fermentor. Everything about the carboy is great. There was a problem with the harness handles. They shifted so much that the carboy almost tipped over. I sewed them to the harness where I wanted them to stay. They worked fine then. This was actually 4.50 stars but I can't give that score.
