Nitro Keg System
A component kit for those who already have a ball-lock soda keg system. Includes nitrogen regulator, 5 lb. nitrogen cylinder, stout faucet with tap handle and 3 inch shank, plus all necessary tubing, clamps, fittings, ball lock disconnects, and instructions. The stout faucet is what creates that famous cascade of foam that slowly resolves itself into a pint of beer. When served "on nitrogen", a beer will have finer bubbles, a denser head, and a creamier mouthfeel than those carbonated and dispensed with CO2 alone. Fill the included nitrogen cylinder with beer gas (a blend of 70% nitrogen and 30% CO2, available at most gas supply companies) and prepare to live the dream.
Please note that by federal law, gas cylinders must be shipped empty; you'll need to have them filled locally. Look under "Gas Suppliers" in your Yellow Pages.

Awesome setup for great at-home pour.
It was given as a birthday gift and he loved it. All of the items we have bought have been excellent.
This is a pretty great starter system. The only trouble I had was with the tank. My local shop wouldn't allow that tank to be filled with beer gas (75% nitro, 25% CO2). Fortunately for me, they exchanged that tank with one of their own--though I did have to buy an adapter for my regulator.
I purchased this system before Christmas and have had a little time to use it. It is a decent setup. It does what it is supposed to do. It gets you pouring nitro beers with very little thought or effort, but as the title states it does not come as pictured. First off the picture shows an aluminum tank. You do not get an aluminum tank, you get a steel tank. Steel vs. aluminum opinions aside, aluminum tanks cost more than steel so showing an aluminum tank then sending a steel tank isn't cool. When I contacted Northern about it they said it was a stock photo they use...maybe its time to update the photo. The other thing is that the faucet that you get is your run of the mill generic chrome plated faucet. The description doesn't specify stainless or chrome, but you should know that you aren't getting a higher quality faucet. Bottom line is that this kit is probably good for someone who doesn't want to put the effort into piecing together a nitro system. If you have a little bit of time and are willing to look around you can put together a kit of similar quality for considerably less money...or a better kit for about the same money.
