Great PH strips for testing star san

I am actually use the PH strips for a quick way to test star san viability. The rule of thumb is a PH value of 3,5 or less the star san should be good if you are keeping it in a container or spray bottle.

works for the price

Have used these for multiple batches of Lambics. If you need accuracy for 0.1 or 0.01 level variations, get a meter, but for $8 these strips are accurate to the 0.3 level (strips tested against hanna pH meter). Key is getting a good reading quickly and under clear lighting; inaccuracy is largely due to interpretation

Didn't work well for apple cider

These are cheap and simple but didn't work well for cider. The strip turned purple, a color that does not appear on the chart. Dark blue is a pH of 4.4, so I suppose that purple means something above that.
