I took a bold move with my first homebrewing adventure and made six five gallon batches. I made two batches of an amber ale and a blonde, saison, mosaic ipa, and a smash session ale. I used this malt syrup as the base for all of them. Seeing as how there are no organic recipes kits anywhere (WTF) I had to build my own kit from recipes. I put together ingredient lists after looking through lots of recipes and things came together pretty well. Everything came out well. I think the coloring in a few of the batches is a little bit off because I had to substitute some different malts for what was called for in the recipes because there are limited choices for organic malts. These malts are a great base for a huge variety of beers. I only wish there were more choices for organic ingredients because its hard to find organic beer brewed anywhere and I really don't want to be consuming the chemical cocktail that comes through in conventionally grown GMO grain. I could piece together all the stuff I needed for all those beers from stuff on the Northern Brewer website, but no organic hops so I had to use what was available with that. Oh well, purity is hard to attain.
Malt is great but the foil-coated lid seal is a pain in the *ss to remove. No grab tab. Have to puncture seal with a knife and peel it off little bits at a time while hoping you don't get foil flakes in your wort.
