Product details

Easily the most widely used lager strain in the world. This yeast produces a distinct malty profile with some ester character and a crisp finish. It is also a versatile strain; perfect for lagers or Pilsners with fermentations in the 45-55°F range. It may also be used for Common beer production with fermentations at 65-68°F. A thorough diacetyl rest is highly recommended after primary fermentation is complete and before the lagering phase.

*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

Lime Tree Ale

I ordered the Lime Tree Lager but I could not do steps 12 & 13 as I did not have a refrigerator to do those step so I brewed as an Ale, I bottled it after the first 2 weeks of fermentation. I used the Omega Yeast OYL-106 German Lager and worked good and we tried the beer and turned out good. Gave some to my Philippine friends and they said it was good

Great attenuation

Fermented out at 1.010 from 1.060 in less than 2 weeks at 52 degrees. Tastes good now but still needs to lager for a while.
