Milwaukee pH56 pH/Temp Meter
The 1957 Cadillac of portable pH meters.
If you're an All-Grain brewer, water pH is crucial for your brew. Having the correct pH in your mash and sparge water helps reduce the chance of off-flavors, improves conversion, and ensures optimal yeast health in the fermentation. But paper test strips can be maddening.
Range of -2 to 16 pH and 23° to 140°F with 0.01 pH and 0.1°F resolution and +/- 0.05 pH and 1°F accuracy. Automatic single- or double-point calibration and automatic temperature correction from 23° to 140°F. Further bells and whistles are a larger digital display than our other meters, auto power-off, replaceable electrode, and a hold feature that allows you to remove the probe from the solution to more easily read the display.
Frequent calibration will ensure you always have the most accurate read on your water.
Included 1.5V batteries provide approx. 300 hours of use (automatic calibration uses more power than manual calibration).
Also includes one set of calibration solution sachets.
Addtional sachets are available in both 4.01 and 7.01 buffer solutions. Solutions are also available in 220 ml bottles.
Please note that electrodes must be rinsed after use and stored in electrode storage solution to ensure proper function of the meter. Storage solution is available in 220 ml bottles.
Fairly easy to calibrate, by all testing completed it seems very accurate. I used this pH meter to test 6 different varieties of liquids.
Takes a little while to read your mash ph, and you have to swirl the mash around a bit, but nice accurate piece
Works great and calibration was super easy
Works as advertised. Can't rate any meter 5 stars until they make one that can be manually calibrated. Would be awesome to calibrate it using CocaCola or my tap water which always the same Ph.NOTE: although any meter has Automatic Temperature Compensation, pour mash sample in a freezer chilled glass before measuring. ATC range doesn't work at 150dF mash temps. 150 could possibly damage the unit but I'm not sure.
Amazing pH meter, super fast to calibrate and measure, like it better than my Hanna
