Mixed this on Feb 20 2020, adding 9lt bottled water to give 21lt must @ OG of 1093. Fermented with Wyeast 4021 liquid wine yeast. Racked, degassed, stabilized etc. three weeks later @ SG of 997, giving 12.3% A/V. Bottled three weeks later.
To me, the wine does not have the typical grassy/lemon flavors of a Sauvignon Blanc, though is quite dry. Tastes more like a pleasant everyday Chenin Blanc or similar.
Easy directions to follow. I am just on the 2nd step but I have made this kit before. It produced the best Sauvignon Blanc that I have made. I was a little concerned when it didn’t start to bubble after 3 days. I stirred it and moved it to a warmer area and it bubbled. I highly recommend this kit.
One of the better kits on the market. Well recommended.
just last night I bottled the sauvignon Blanc by RJS Cru. I am not really a big friend of white wines, but this wine is as good as any bought from a store without any aging.
I let the yeast burn all the sugars (in other words stop bubbling) which probably makes it rather dry, which maybe makes it good.
