Product details

Beneath a mountain of snowy froth lies the garnet-hued elixir of celebrations to come. A glint of orange peel invigorates the senses, cascading into a full-bodied pillar of Festivus ale. Adornments of holiday spice warm the nose as delicate hints of stone fruit, raisin and caramel wrestle for center stage. Toasty malt adds complexity to the impressive mouthfeel for a comforting, prolonged finish.

Feats of strength! Airing of grievances! The infamous aluminum Festivus pole! This miraculous pint of ale is a tradition for Festivus holidays to come. Its mildly spiced, yet packed with sufficient ABV to ensure winter-time glory. If you don't successfully pin down the head of the household, a few pints of Festivus Miracle will.

Festivus Miracle

Good tasting beer. I have made it twice. However, I have not been able to hit the O.G. It looks like the grains were not milled enough, but that is a guess. I got to 1.061 O.G. in the second batch by mashing for 1.5 hours, but this was still short of the 1.07 O.G. in the accompanying documentation. It is still a good tasting holiday beer.

Drank so much we broke the aluminium pole

Very happy with this kit. The beer turned out a little stronger than advertised..but who’s complaining?? I went a little heavier on the spice/orange peel and glad I did. However, I used 3/4s of the packet, it gave off a pronounced but not overwhelming flavor. Strongly recommend this kit, I will be purchasing again for next year to celebrate Festivus as I air my grievances.

Super tasty. Took 2 weeks to fully carbonate.

It's a beautiful amber color and tastes delicious. I bottle carbonated it. I rushed the carbonation and tried the beer after only 1 week of bottle conditioning....completely flat. I left it bottle condition for one more week (2 weeks total) and it now has a beautiful head. I used half of the spice pack as recommended. It has a nice malty taste and is very smooth. I taste a hint of the spices.

Good Kit - a little confusing on the spices - are these added directly or in a hop sack

Good kit, instructions and details lacking

The quality of the grain and adjuncts were good !
The instructions and details could be better .
There is a reference to secondary fermentation, but I could not figure out why in this case ( no after primary fermentation adjuncts ). Also no expected FG or expected ABV .

For those using brewing software it wasn't clear what style to use as starting point ( Belgian ? something else ?) to calculate water chemistry among other things .

One more point. The spices usage leaves room for wondering. How much is too much ?

Still in the 6 weeks I decided to let it ride ... But it tastes good.
