Product details

LalBrew® CBC-1 Cask and Bottle Conditioning Ale Dry Yeast (Danstar) is a yeast strain designed to ensure adequate carbonation in kegs, casks, or bottles.
A Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast culture specifically chosen for its refermentation quality and performance, this dried yeast is perfectly suited for priming and conditioning in casks, bottles, or kegs. Alcohol tolerance is high, at 12-14%ABV.

This yeast can also be used for primary fermentation or slow or sluggish fermentations. When used for priming, dextrose (corn sugar) works best - this yeast does not metabolize maltotriose, so wort is not an ideal priming agent.

The recommended inoculation rate is 2 grams per 5 gallons, or approximately 1/2 tsp.

  • Beer Styles: Bottle Conditioning
  • Aroma: Neutral
  • Fermentation Temperature Range: 59 - 68°F
  • Optimum Bottle Conditioning Temp: 59-77° F
  • Alcohol Tolerance: 18% ABV

Yeast Disclaimer We strongly recommend ordering dry yeast in the summer months. We do include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeasts. It is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will survive the trip given transit times and particularly hot temperatures.

Saved the day!

After a month of conditioning, my Dragon's Silk Stout still had no carbonation at all. Found this yeast in the "search" for carbonation issues and it worked perfectly! I did have to un-cap and add less than 1/8 of a teaspoon to each bottle. Within 2 weeks I had a perfectly carbonated Stout!

I used this yeast and was able to successfully carbonate my beer.
Thank you very much.

Recovered batch that failed to carbonate the first time

One of your associates suggested this — opening the bottles and adding a few grains to each and give it another couple weeks to carbonate and it worked.

Conditioning yeast a hit!

The yeast saved my Irish red ale batch, which had originally turned out flat. The recarbonated brew was excellent!
