This bundle makes a great gift for brewers or winemakers of any skill level.
Easy to setup and kept the temp right where I wanted it. Very cool device.
Very easy to use temp controller and perfect to get the temp you need !
The temperature controller works great, keeps everything at temperature within 1 degree. The temperature probe seems nice and durable. Programming the controller is really easy.
The heater element works well, too. I only wish that the cord could detach from the heater so that I could thread it through a smaller drilled hole in my fermentation chamber. As it is, need a hole large enough to pass a standard 2 prong plug.
This took literally 15 minutes to setup, most of which was learning how to configure the controller settings. Agree with other reviewers that it's a little lame that the heating pad suggests using electrical tape to secure it to the carboy, but I just tucked the pad between the straps of my Brew Hauler carboy cradle and the outside of the carboy and it holds it fine. So, how did it work? Perfectly. I brewed a NEIPA using a yeast that wanted a high fermentation temp so I set the controller to 77 degrees and despite the big temp fluctuations of cool late spring evenings and warm afternoons, this kept my beer between 76.2 and 77.8 for 12 straight days. I've never seen happier yeast. Produced the most complete fermentation and delicious beer I've ever made. I haven't tried for a situation that also requires cooling but the same rig lets you do both. This single investment letting me finally (and finely) control my fermentation temperature has raised my brewing game several notches. I highly recommend making this upgrade. Don't forget the thermowell stopper.
Works great. I have used this for both heating the wart in a fermenter and for cooling kegs in a freezer.
