LE19 Cape Blend Red Wine Recipe Kit - Winexpert Limited Edition
Released April 2020 - Sold Out
This exciting combination of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage and Grenache creates a wine that is truly outstanding and worthy of being a part of the 30th anniversary of LE!
The dark berry flavors from the Cabernet Sauvignon balance nicely with the forward spiciness from the Shiraz. Pinotage, which is a grape varietal that is unique to South Africa, provides strong tannins and smoky, earthy characteristics while the Grenache contributes aromas of leather and licorice. Together these elements offer a complex, full-bodied wine that pairs well with roasted red meats seasoned with marinades or savory herbs and aged hard cheeses.
Sweetness: Dry | Body: Full Body | Oak: Medium - Heavy Oak | Alcohol: 14% ABV*

Still in carboy but now clearing......looking forward to bottling
My husband is the winemaker and usually buys 2-4 different kits/ year. This was purchased this spring, so he just got it into the 6 gal carboy in May. We won't be tasting until sometime next winter, bottling next Apr/ May.
We love the dry red wine kits and often have 4-6 carboys aging at the same time. We've found the longer they age before they're bottled, the greater the reward of taste.
