I’m happy with this kit. All the starter kit items are sturdy and have held up through two kits now—I expect to get a long life out of them.
A word of caution to beginners: the directions that come with the Weekday Wine kit assume a degree of familiarity with brewing that you almost certainly don’t have if you needed to buy all the other stuff that came with this kit. You should be prepared to do a fair amount of googling—“how to siphon”, “what is a wine thief”, that sort of thing. If you’re game, all the information is out there and this is a great way to get started. I might suggest that Norther Brewer work up a packet for absolute beginners to include in this order though—it would add a lot of value to this item.
A word of caution for everyone: I wasn’t able to get this kit to clear with the instructions as written, even with six extra weeks in the bucket. I ordered Dualfine (the same clearing agents included in the kit) and the directions called for an hour between the first and second addition. The original kit had not called for that wait time. I don’t know if it’s an oversight in the directions or a coincidence, but my wine did clear after I waited an hour between the kiesolsol and the chitosan. I wanted to share that with other beginners so they can make the call themselves.
