As the season changes from frigid temperatures and snow flurries to the blooming flowers and sunny days of spring my thoughts swing from heavy barley wines to the refreshing thirst quencher German style Hefeweizen. This is one of my favorite styles to brew and enjoy all summer long.
I’m originally from Grafton, Wisconsin. My favorite brewing topic is recipe formulation and advanced brewing techniques like step mashes, decoctions, water chemistry, and so on. I would have to say my favorite style of beer is an American Pale Ale – it is such a versatile style that is never out of place in any season or with any meal.
