Great beer starts with premium ingredients and reliable brewery equipment. Great brewers start with Edelmetall Brü®, because it uses raw materials that surpass even the highest German quality standards—from brushed stainless steel to genuine copper finishes. And every feature is custom-designed for a specific brew-day task, incorporating details only a die-hard brewer can appreciate. This is what sets Edelmetall Brü® apart from other propane burners.
Designed to complement the stunning exterior of the Edelmetall Brü® Burner, the optional leg extensions raise your kettle to a comfortable 27” while providing the structural rigidity required to support even the heaviest kettles and biggest batches. Equipped with a reinforcing triangle at its base, these copper-clad steel extensions offer unmatched stability even on rough terrain. The additional height is perfect for draining wort directly into your fermenter or a gravity feed wort chiller setup. Take your Edelmetall Brü® to new heights and never lift a full, hot brewpot again.

- 4.5 / 5.065 ReviewsGreat BurnerBurns quiet and efficient with plenty of BTU’s for a 6.5 gallon boil. 4 stars due to the cheap hose and propensity to light inside the air valve and not the burner itself. Much better then my old jet burner and the legs are worth every cent!November 15, 2017Purchased
2 months agoVery happy with this burner. No soot . Temperature gauge works great.November 7, 2017Purchased
5 months agoBring the 6 1/2 Gallon to a boil in about 10 minNice looking, From shipping, box came a little beat up. Had to flatten out the vent,it was bent, and the washer was missing. but have tons at home, no problem. Otherwise like the fine tuning you can do. used it twice. So far love it.October 28, 2017Purchased
2 months agoVery SatisfiedThis burner turned out to be a lot more power than I needed but I'm not complaining. Very high quality materials and very easy to set up. I doubt I'll ever need to buy another burner again. Highly recommend.October 9, 2017Purchased
3 months agoAwesomeThis burner is a powerhouse. I used to use a standard burned I bought at the grocery store and it used to take forever to get liquids up to temp. This baby sounds like a jet engine when it's powered up 100%. The granular temp control is pretty nice as well.July 19, 2017Purchased
1 year agogreat burneri got the additional legs. definitely worth it. raises the pot to a more ergonomic level for stirring and making additions. also, the legs allow for me to gravity drain the wort into my bucket at the end. and this burner is super quiet compared to the rocket noise of the Banjo Burner i've used for years.July 5, 2017Purchased
7 months agoEdelmetal Bru BurnerHave had 2 of these burners for about a year. Recently upgraded to from 8 gal Megapot to a 10 gal and needed to adjust the upper guides.
No such luck. The screws holding the guides had fused...wouldn't budge. Luckily had a less used burner, which the same thing almost happened.
Will say the leg extensions are very sturdy.
Also, the needle valve is extremely sensitive. Stop at moderate finger tightened...even if the valve is upside down. Even a 1/4 turn extra will snap it off. Northern Brewer was kind enough to replace our first broken one. The 2nd one broke from the strength of a 3 year old reaching out and grabbing it.
After the guide issue...we just tossed it in the trash.May 10, 2017Purchased

9 months agoDefinitely did what is expected. I got this to replace my small burner during brew-- old turkey fryer. Does well at the small boil, but still slow. Still have to use my big burner to bring boil fast, then switch to the edalmetal. Very quiet and the boil control is pretty good, unless it is windy, but that is the same for all.Only boiled 6 and think it would take forever to boil the 15.
Very nice burner but limited to small batches.March 28, 2017Purchased
9 months agoGreat burner but the looks don't lastI got this burner for free as a part of a NB promotion a month or so ago. The burner functioned as intended and worked flawlessly. I was able to bring 7 gallons of 150°F wort to a boil in about 10 minutes, so it has some power behind it. My only complaint is that the beautiful copper finish around the top of the burner didn't last more than a single use. Granted it's home brewing and things don't have to look pretty but it would be nice if the copper finish lasted a little longer.March 21, 2017Purchased

- Browse 24 questions Browse 24 questions and 43 answersI'm trying to decide between this and the Blichmann. My main concern is I want to use Natural Gas and don't see anyway this can be converted. I guess I could just change the orifice that connects to the burner with a 1/8" hole vs the usually 1/16" hole or smaller that is usually set up for propane. Maybe the Blichmann NG conversion kit would work?BEST ANSWER: The Blichmann Natural gas conversion kit will not work with the Edelmetall burner. Can this be used with a 30lb or 40lb propane tank?BEST ANSWER: As long as the propane tank has the same (US spec) valve as the standard 20 lb tank you can pick up at grocery stores/hardware stores/gas stations, then it should work.I am having trouble lighting my burner. It flashes and then there is a small flame inside the burner at the end of the needle valve only. then you have to shut the gas off until it goes out and start all over. It has only been used probably 5 times or less. It seems to work pretty good after you are able to get it lit. Any thoughts about what the problem may be?BEST ANSWER: I had this problem initially, but now I just completely shut off the needle valve....leave it closed all the time. Then light the burner by opening the larger in-line valve. Works fine every time, especially with a small propane lighter that puts the starter flame right near the burner. Will the legs support a 20 gallon brew?BEST ANSWER: Yep, use it on my 20 gal Stout boil kettle all the time.Would this work for running a 6 gallon 10 inch base copper still? I need to be able to keep temps between 175-190 or is this burner over kill?BEST ANSWER: You can turn it down but it is probably overkill for your application. Can the burner be fitted to use a natural gas quick connect line? Is that all that is necessary to "convert" it, or is there more to the "conversion kit"?BEST ANSWER: At this time, the Edelmetall Bru Burner can only be used with propane. We do not have a conversion kit for natural gas, but hopefully we get one in the future. Cheers! -Deanna, staffHeight of burner?BEST ANSWER: The burner is about 10.5" tall. Cheers! Can an Edelmetall Bru burner be added to the Center of Gravity® Brew Sculpture?Edelmetall Brü® BurnerBEST ANSWER: Thanks for contacting Northern Brewer. I understand you would like to use an Edelmetall Bru Burner with the Center of Gravity. I wouldn't recommend it, as that could pose some serious safety issues and you would have to make some serious customizing to the product to even use it with this product, which would invalidate the warranty on both products. Cheers! -Deanna, StaffMy hose fitting broke during a move. How do I get a new hose assembly?BEST ANSWER: I had one that broke once and I went to my local propane hvac dealer and they were able to hook me up with a new setup.Maybe can fit & boil a 30G kettle, but can the legs hold up a 30G kettle with a full hi-gravity mash approx. 230 lbs? (45 lb pot + 50 lb grain + 135 lbs water) I don't see a weight spec. What is weight limit for extension legs as well?BEST ANSWER: We put boards on the burner to see how many brewmasters it could hold. Held roughly 1000 lbs of brew masters. That was without leg extensions but who needs extensions if you have a 30 gallon pot. Andre? Cheers!I have had mine for about a year now and I love it, but I'm over getting tanks refilled..I want to convert to natural gas. I can't seem to locate my manual and can't recall if it came with a conversion kit. If it did and I can't locate it, can one be purchased?BEST ANSWER: There currently isn't a conversion kit to switch the Edelmetall from propane to natural gas.First off thanks Aaron F for answering my question!
In your opinion, would a 21 inch diameter be ok for this burner?BEST ANSWER: Just install the kettle stays upside down and it will have no problem handling a kettle with a 21" diameter.
Aaron F.I've done the typical Google search and haven't easily come up with a definite answer. I see the reviews for quick boil time, and I'm just not getting those results. I finished a steep and got called away for about 30 mins, and then came back to continue the brew. My steep water was at 125+ deg (3 gallons) and it took me nearly 60 mins to bring it to a boil. I'm convinced it's not the burner, but the operator. What is the best looking flame to get max heat out of this burner?
Assumptions: 5 gallon brew pot, 3 gallon wort. Adjusting to highest blue flame without going yellow on the tip of the flames.
How do you all use the regulator adjusters and the needle valve adjuster to get the best/hottest flame? Fresh air intake adjustment?
Opinions and criticism much appreciated.BEST ANSWER: The Blichmann burner appears to be similar to our Edelmaetall. This is from their instructions:
"Fine tuning the flame: Once the burner has ignited, you will adjust the regulator and air damper to reach the desired heat setting and air/fuel mixture. Looking through the flame inspection hole at the flame, turn the air damper until the flame is slightly yellow. Then slowly turn it back until the flame turns pale blue (the yellow will be gone) and is still touching the nozzles in the burner casting. If the flame lifts off of the nozzles, or you hear a low grumbling from the flame it is getting too much air through the damper and you will need to close it slightly. If it is yellow, there is not adequate air and you will need to increase the air flow. As you increase the gas flow via the regulator, it may be necessary to readjust the air damper. Note that optimum heating speed and efficiency can only be achieved with a properly adjusted flame."Does this product have a manufacturer's warranty? Our valve stopped working.BEST ANSWER: NB offers a one year warranty on our products. There are exceptions but we are happy to help ensure the products are in good working order when used properly
under that one year warranty. Customer service is contacting you now.My needle valve broke. How can I order a replacement part?BEST ANSWER: Sorry to hear that your needle valve broke. Our Customer Service team can help you order that via phone 1-800-681-2739.How much is shipping?BEST ANSWER: Thanks for contacting Northern Brewer. The Edelmetall Bru Burner does not qualify for the $7.99 flat-rate shipping. It would be standard shipping which is based off of weight and distance. To find out the shipping price, put the item in the shopping cart and then add your zip code to estimate the shipping rates. Cheers!Hi. Based on individual reviews on this product and their use deep cooking turkeys we purchased one for christmas however we are looking at the manual which came with our burner and it says we cant use to cook turkeys and cant use oil....do you know why??? If we cant we need to return the unit
SueBEST ANSWER: All propane burners are not recommended for heating oil. This is a safety concern and is included in instructions to protect retailers and manufacturers. If used safely, it would work the same as any other propane burner - but it also recommends not using with 10 feet of any structure and with nothing directly over head. Can the burner be hooked up to a propane line inside ?BEST ANSWER: Hello George,
Thank you for choosing Northern Brewer! One could most definitely hook the burner up to a direct propane line inside, but you aren't going to want to run those burners indoors. That is unless you have an exhaust hood, and or a return air system. The burners work on a level of combustion that will deplete the oxygen from a room or home quite rapidly, and can thus cause asphyxiation/suffocation/death. Let me know if you have any further questions!Any recommendations on what to use to clean the outside copper as well as the burner? I had a boilover and don't want to use a cleaner that's too abrasive. Thanks!BEST ANSWER: I would avoid Ajax/Comet type things, and use no-scratch cleansers like Bon Ami for that copper part; with some soaking and a bit of elbow grease, it should come right off. The burner itself, you could use a "tougher" cleanser, and a scrubbing pad. -Mike W, Northern BrewerIs there a natural gas conversion? Can this burner on propane be used indoors?BEST ANSWER: Hey Brad
Burners can be converted to natural gas
but we do not sell a conversion kit. Realistically anything that runs on propane can be converted
its just a matter of finding the right components. If the corn dryer on my farm can be converted
I think the Bru burner can
where there's a will there's a way. Unfortunately
we don't sell the way... As far as running propane indoors
it is not advised. Can this boil 12 gallons of wort?BEST ANSWER: Yes it can. This burner is rated for up to a 30 gallon kettle. On the brochure, it claims that the burner surface diameter is adjustable to fit "any" diameter...what is the MAX diameter this can hold?BEST ANSWER: With the kettle stays in the up position it can fit a kettle up to 19" in diameter. If you flip those over it can fit any diameter kettle.
Aaron F.Please please please make a natural gas conversation kit for the edelmetall burner. It’s so beautiful and I want to brew in my basement. Let me know if and when you do?It worries me a bit that NB sells a replacement needle valve for this burner. Why would that be needed?
