Fermenters Favorites = cheap knockoff
For $4 you'd hope this would do something simple like show the temperature of the liquid in the carboy. Alas, no. When I rub my finger over it I can coax a number out that disappears again a moment later. The ones they used to sell were a $1 less and worked. Such a shame this seems to be the new normal.

This thermometer works good. It's accurate, easy to attach, & doesn't fall off when I wash out my little big mouth bubbler. The only thing that I don't like about it is it's a little hard to read. Especially when you're trying to read it at an angle, or when it's in a partially lit room. Overall it works great.

It does the job
It's an external stick on thermometer. It does what it's supposed to do.

Not very impressed
I bought these in hopes that it would help me monitor the temp. They do not illuminate bright enough for you to see the temperature you have to get real close and look at them at an angle

Poorly Designed
This thermometer doesn't display the temperature without rubbing it first. I'm glad I only bought one when I needed three. Too bad NB doesn't offer a choice of the time proven strip thermometers that have always worked and continue to work as they should.

It works, and it's easy to read. Exactly what I needed :)

Does the trick some of the time.
While I like this and would recommend it, I will warn that it is sometimes hard to read. It's like sometimes it will be between temperatures and you will not see any reading at all. Also, you sort of need to be at the same level as the read out or you don't see it. Not great for checking from a distance.

Junk, 7 degrees off
Started brewing mead for the first time, and put this thermometer on my little big mouth bubbler. Checked the temp after about 3 hours (first time with this device), and it read 73. So I put my fermenter in a bath of cold water with a little ice. Next morning it read 75, so I tried the evaporation cooling technique putting my fermenter in a tray of water with a wet shirt over it and a fan, and I dropped the temp in the room from 75 to 72. Then 10 hours later this thermometer read 75. I couldn't believe it so I checked it with a probe thermometer and my probe temp showed 68. So I grabbed a meat thermometer and it said 68. This thing was 7 degrees off! Completely useless. My mead temp is fine and this piece of junk had me freaking out that I was going to have swill.

Inside fermenter or outside?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: outside. i put mine on my plastic bucket primary fermenter. Not incredibly useful during chill stage because i submerge the bucket in an ice bath, but decent to monitor temperature during primary fermentation area.
After this is applied to the fermentation vessel, can it be removed and re-applied, for example for cleaning?
Or, can this thermometer withstand cleaning and sanitizing multiple times?
H E on Aug 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is applied directly to the outside of the fermenter. It is not designed to be removed. You can wipe it clean and sanitize it repeatedly.
The description says it is designed for the Big Mouth Bubbler. I am assuming they are referencing the larger 5 and 6 gallon fermenters. How well does this fit on the small one gallon fermentors?
S B on Jul 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It fits great on every big mouth bubbler design. The little BMB has one large flat space that can accomodate this circular 3"x3" sticker.
I have the FermagraF°™ attached to my Catalyst fermenter. Will it stay on, if I run it through the dishwasher?
A shopper on Dec 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I do not think the thermometer will survive very many trips through a dishwasher. The adhesive “might” but likely won’t work. I hand wash anything I’ve put one on.
Why is this stick on thermometer reading a constant 84 on my glass carboy primary and my electronic read 67?
