Product Details

Plastic 3/8" OD bottle filler with gravity-operated valve. We prefer this filler for its cleanability. Fillers work best with a bucket equipped with a bottling spigot.

13" Length.

Absolute garage unless of course you want to waste alot of beer from leaks, why in God's name is this in the starter kits

Leaks.
Came with Deluxe Brewing Kit. Used for the first time today. Leaked constantly. I will be looking for something else.

Leaks, essentially useless
This bottle filler came with my deluxe starter kit. I am mystified why Northern Brewer would package such an incredibly crappy product with a starter kit for new homebrewers. The filler leaked a steady stream constantly and I lost at least 3 bottles worth of beer.
I would give it 0 stars but you have to select at least one star to submit the review.

Broken After ONLY Two Uses!
This came with my Deluxe starter kit. It worked well the first time despite continually dripping. It didn't drip a lot at a time but over the course of bottling it amounted to a sizeable puddle.

While bottling my Highrise IPA (good beer so far!) last night the filler broke and one of the "hinge" things got stuck. It sprayed beer everywhere even after I had pulled it from the bottle. I lost even more beer (especially sad since i'd already lost a gallon to the massive amount of hops in this IPA.)
The rest of the kit has worked well but this item is garbage.

Terrible
Didn't even work through a single bottling session. Valve locked open and it won't close. No instructions on how to take it apart for inspection or cleaning. Very bad design and Zero help on how to take it apart for sanitizing, inspection or repair. Very disappointed.

Leaks like a sieve
My current filler was getting old, dripped a little bit, but was ok. Thought I'd get a new one to replace the old one. Out of the box, the new one looks perfectly fine, but it won't hold water: fluid pours though even if you jiggle the end, etc.

It's not just me.
I thought I was just bad at bottling but after reading other reviews I see everyone has had the exact same experience I have. A constant steady stream even when the valve is "closed" I will probably order the spring loaded bottle filler on a future order as this one seems to be no good.

Does not stop the beer
Bottling with this horrible design of plastic was a brewer's nightmare. This is the first time we have ever used it and brewed in general. Beer would constantly trickle out of the bottle filler leaving a mess all over the floor of which we put towels down to contain the liquid. Transfering the filler from bottle to bottle was a joke. Easily lost at least 2 bottles of beer due to it and it gets all over your hands making it very sticky and wet. Rather difficult to move full bottles when sanitized (already slimy) and then soaked hands. It looks like the other option is the spring loaded one which has 5 star ratings across the board.

Why can't the homebrew starter kit include this spring loaded filler instead??? Seems like a good sales pitch to me when they essentially cost the same price.

This item should be discontinued.
As a previous review said, it pees beer everywhere half the time. I took a closer look at it and it seems that the o-ring isn't held in place by anything and comes unseated very easily. The problem occurs when the O-ring falls lopsided and holds the plunger open. It only works when the O-ring happens to fall perfectly into place, which doesn't happen often.

will this work with 5/16" ID Beverage Tubing?
Raymon A on Nov 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit inside 5/16" ID tubing.

For comparison's sake i bought 2 different bottle fillers:

7200 Spring Tip Bottle Filler
7202 Fermenter's Favorites Bottle Filler

My 1st bottling will occur next weekend, but i filled each with water to see how they work. The spring tip one (7200) is, surprise, spring loaded. When not depressed it formed a tight seal and let no water past. The other one (7202) relies on the weight of the liquid to close the end and when not depressed there was still some dripping.
Is it possible to take this apart for cleaning? I tried to pop the plastic valve from the bottom but was afraid to break it.

BEST ANSWER: This bottle filler does not come apart for cleaning.
