great quality
Very well built and sturdy build. Not just a cheep plastic, this is made from a ~1/8 inch walled plastic pipe. Very level to get an accurate reading.

leaks and crooked
The cylinder is was not sealed at the bottom. If you leave liquid sitting for more than a minute it will start leaking from the bottom. I had to put a dab of silicon around the base to hold liquid. The cylinder also does not sit straight in the base so you have to hold or prop the cylinder to keep the hydrometer centered.

Tilted from base
The jar is tilted from the base. I need to prop it up about 1/8 inch on one side in order for my hydrometer to not hit the side of the tube. Would not recommend

Leaks
The plastic is very clear, but it slowly leaks at the base. It does hold liquid long enough for a measurement.

Works as advertised.
Don't put it in the dishwasher though. My first one cracked like crazy.

What is the inside diameter of this jar?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 1 1/8 inches
What's the temperature rating on this jar?
D U on Mar 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know of a temperature rating. It's fairly cheap plastic. I suspect that water near the boiling point would damage it, either turning it cloudy, warping it, or cracking it. If I wanted to measure gravity of boiling wort, I would cool it maybe in a small saucepan, before putting it in this jar or putting a hydrometer in it. Hydrometer readings at high temperatures aren't very accurate anyway.
