***All Grain Recipe Kit. Advanced Equipment Required***
We’re kicking off the Brew. Share. Enjoy.® Brewery Edition Kits with a true original. Until now, Goose Island’s legendary Milk Porter has been available exclusively to lucky patrons of the Fulton & Wood Street Tasting Room. But now, you can be among the first to brew this Chicago house favorite at your house. We partnered with Goose Island Brewmaster Jared Jankoski to scale this recipe perfectly for homebrewers while retaining every last drop of its decadent, deep chocolate hue and oh-so-sippable character. The result is an unbelievably memorable brew that captures the creamy essence of the eggnog cocktail that inspired it, along with notes of milk chocolate, nutmeg and a big, toasty malt backbone. Brew plenty, because this is one beer that tends to acquire a following, and you’ll want to savor it as long as you can.

Dark chocolate porter with creamy tan-colored head. There is an aroma of milk chocolate and approachable roast. The flavor is amplified by a noticeable mouth coating smoothness and a lingering wood-like aftertaste. Chocolate, roasted malt, oats and a lactose backbone further encourage a uniquely inspired porter that sips oh-so-smoothly. Think Malted Milk Balls with a crisp, delicious finish.
Goose Island: The Inside Scoop
Giving beer lovers insider access to the craft of making beer has been a core part of Goose Island’s brewing philosophy from the very start. Founder John Hall firmly believed that the secret to boosting interest in craft beer was permitting consumers to see the craft itself. And so, almost 30 years ago, Goose Island became one of the first brewpubs to showcase the actual brewing process. Inviting beer lovers to share in that craft is just the next natural step in a long line of innovation that has produced wildly popular limited editions like Bourbon County Series, as well as beloved mainstays now enjoyed around the world.
Once you brew your own Milk Porter, be sure stay tuned for the latest news and releases from Goose Island. After all, you’re part of the family, now.

4.0 / 5.01 ReviewIt's brewed and keggedI have not been to the Fulton and Wood tasting room so wasn't sure what to expect from the beer from this kit. The kit is nice, packaged very well and everything was included as described one ordered. I purchased ground grains which were nicely ground. I used Omega yeast 013 in a 1liter starter. Brew day was smooth, Expected OG was 1080 and my 5 gallon batch came in at 1082 with a FG of 1027 before I kegged it. So ABV is about 7.2. Uncarbed, I'm getting robust cocoa and coffee flavors. The milk/cream flavors are more subtle and highlight the chocolate/espresso flavors. With a 2 oz late addition of fuggle hops I really wanted a bit more hop flavor to come through just for a bit more interest, but meh on hop flavor. Even uncarbed, I can tell mouthfeel will be silky smooth and full. This young beer is currently a bit boozy on the finish. In hind site, not sure I would keg this one. A few months in a bottle might be the way to go. It's certainly a stepped up porter and if that's what your after I don't think it will dissapont.April 5, 2017
