Foxx Brewer's Heater Pad
This heat pad FIT INSIDE most plastic milk-crate. This bottom heater will lay flat in a milk-crate. I use a milk-crates use to protect my carboy.Unit measures 11 1/4" by 11 1/4" square. Made in New Zealand. Power consumption is 25 watts @ 110 volts. A white corrugated plastic bottom, under the smooth, blue, plastic top. The six-foot power cord is attached to the beveled corner.I purchased six-months ago from NB, with a thermostatic controller (not included). Foxx Brewers Heater Pad has reliably warmed my T-shirt wrapped, six-gallon carboys, this Winter, in my unheated basement.I may purchase a second.

So when used in conjunction with the temperature controller, the pad will turn on and off to maintain the fermentation at a steady temperature?
David W on Dec 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use this heat pad with a dual temperature controller. The mat is used for heating and a chest freezer for cooling. Currently able to get great temperature stability using this setup.
Wil this product melt a plastic carboy?? Specifically a big mouth bubbler.
Rob B on Feb 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Rob, No it would not, those temperatures would also kill the yeast. Let us know if you have any further questions!
Can I affix this to a 14 gallon fermenator ?
Jeff D on Jan 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Well Jeff, you don't affix it to a fermenter; you set the fermenter on top of it. Your question gives the impression that you think this heat pad is flexible and can be wrapped around the fermenter. It's not, it is made of rigid plastic. It would be totally useless for a conical fermenter for example. So long as the environment is not too cold, this should work fine for a 14 gallon bucket type fermenter. I recommend wrapping foil backed bubble wrap insulation around the side walls, and I find this device works best when used in conjunction with a temperature controller.
What are the dimensions of the mat?
J G on Feb 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The one I received measures 11 5/16 inches by 11 5/16 inches.
What if I use it without a Temp controller? What temp will it be at?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It will get too hot, if you don't use a controller. You can of course watch it and turn it on and off manually.
How do you register for the warranty?
N E on Mar 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We can honor the manufacturer's warranty based on the date of purchase.
Would this be a good solution for carbonation?
Robert M on Jan 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We would recommend this as a good way to heat a fermentor. I do not think it would be very useful in getting beer to carbonate. I guess if you want to let us know what issue you are running into we can troubleshoot and try to help. Cheers!
