What was your proudest moment in your fermentation history?
Rescued a stuck fermentation, and attenuated to 82% attenuation on a 15.2% ABV Imperial IPA (American Barleywine?).
Why do you brew?
I am constantly in seek of the perfect fermentation, inspired by traditional styles but not limited to them. I’ll endeavor to imbibe that perfect beverage of brewing nirvana.
When did you start brewing?
Thanksgiving day, 2007. I made a Nut Brown ale and a standard strength dry wildflower mead
What is your brewing system?
Single Tier direct fired RIMS with Megapot 1.2 and Blichmann Kettles.
What is your favorite style of beer for drinking and for brewing?
All the Mild! for drinking. For brewing everything from Amber Ale to Vienna Lager (A-V), but my favorite brews are lagers simple in recipe but complex in flavor and technique.
If you could share a beer with anyone throughout history, of even fictional, who would it be?
Dmitri Mendeleev, at least periodically. Otherwise Louis Pasteur, I’d blow his socks off.
Where do you spend your non-brewing time?
On my bicycle, or shooting pool over a few beers.
