First time is it an easy kit to make?
Daniel B on Jun 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probably not the easiest but the directions are clear enough. If you are brewing in a hot climate you must have an air conditioned area to store your wine during the brewing process (e.g.,(indoor closet). To meet temperature requirements in step 3 of Primary Fermentation Day, I recommend filling fermenter to 5 gallon
mark, checking temperature to assure it is in the prescribed range. If too warm, I add ice until I reach the
desired range.
Whenever the directions call for beating wine (Step 4 in Stabilizing, Clearing & Degassing ) be sure the wine is in a fermenter (NOT a carboy) and use a portable electric drill with a paint stirrer. Trying to stir it with the wine in a narrow necked carboy is just not effective and unduly hard.
Finally, my fermenter has a spigot at the bottom. Transferring wine to this type of fermenter just before bottling allows you to fill your bottles with the spigot -- faster and quicker!

what comes with this kit ?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Grape juice bag, apple juice/flavoring bag, stabilizing/clearing agents, yeast, and instructions.
When I ordered mine, it only came with the juice bags, but NB made it right.
What type of yeast is recommended to use for this kit? I used the yeast that came with this kit in an experiment and do not remember what it was.
A shopper on Mar 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It was probably the Red Star Premier Cuvee, a good, strong, neutral fermenter, good for many uses. Or, a Lalvin EC-1118 would also be a perfect choice for these kits.
