If you are unsatisfied with any item purchase for any reason, send it back to us with your original invoice within 30 days and we will refund your purchase price on that item (excluding shipping charges).

One Year Warranty on Equipment

We will gladly replace or repair any equipment that is defective, within one year of purchase.

Gift Cards

Physical Gift Cards, including promotional, ship separately from your order via USPS Standard Post. Any other items on your order will be shipped via the shipping method that you select at checkout. USPS delivery time within the contiguous U.S. is 5-8 business days from the time your Gift Card is shipped. USPS delivery time to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico is 15-18 business days from the time your gift card is shipped. Physical Gift Card recipient address must be USPS-deliverable.

We’re so confident in the quality of our beer kits, we’ll replace any kit, anytime, no questions asked.

 We take pride in our tech support and our team is ready to help you with any aspect of your brewing experience. From brew day through fermentation, during bottle or kegging and finally – sharing and enjoying. We’re here to guide you and help make sure your homebrewing experience is a success. We stand behind our promise to help you succeed.


When stored in a refrigerator and used within 3 months of purchase, our Wyeast smack packs will show inflation within 5 days of activation, or we will replace them free of charge. We strongly recommend that you evaluate the viability of all other liquid yeast (e.g., White Labs) by making a yeast starter. Do not brew with inactive yeast — we can replace the yeast, but not a batch that fails to ferment properly.

Other Ingredients and Perishable Items

We guarantee all ingredients for 3 months from date of purchase. If you suspect a problem with any ingredients, contact us immediately – do not brew. Proper use and procedure is the responsibility of the customer.

Personal Checks and Money Orders

Payment by personal check or money order may delay shipment if your order is not placed by telephone. Orders will not be shipped until payment is received. Personal checks, once received, may be held to verify funds before the order is shipped. In order to determine shipping charges, customers paying by check or money order should call us and place the order by telephone. If payment is not sufficient to cover shipping costs, the order may not be sent.

Veterans and Active Members of Military discount

As a way to honor and thank the men and women of the US Armed Forces for their service, Northern Brewer offers a 10% discount for veterans and active members of the military. To receive this discount for mail order purchases, please call 800-681-2739 to speak with a customer service representative. We also honor this discount in all of our retail locations. This discount cannot be combined with other discounts, and excludes Blichmann Engineering products.


What items can be returned?

Any product may be returned within 30 days for an exchange or refund (less shipping charges).

Who pays for return shipping?

The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless we have made an error in shipment or an item arrives damaged or defective. In the event of a shipment error or a damaged/defective item, Northern Brewer will be responsible for the cost of ground shipping only, and only for returns made within 30 days of the purchase date.

Please contact us if your defective merchandise is less than $10.00 in value; returning the merchandise may not be necessary.
