Product details

One of the signature brews of Bavaria, Hefeweizen is a medium-bodied, effervescent ale practically exploding with yeast and wheat malt character, kind of like a liquid multigrain bread.

Our hefeweizen beer kit is 100% traditional; cloudy, malty, and spicy, with a smooth mouthfeel and dense, whipped-cream head. Serve in a tall glass mit hefe, and swirl the bottle to make sure you get all the yeast!

The perfect small batch size for the 3 Gallon FastFerment.

Possible with 5 gal equipment

I only have a 5 gallon homebrewing set up but I wanted to make a small batch of hefeweizen as a gift for my dad. After reading some online forums I deemed this was possible with my kit but still had some hesitation. These was my fourth beer and definitely the easiest to make. The fermentation went really steady. Upon opening the container I saw white yeast flakes which initially freaked me out (but upon more research these seem to be common with the type of yeast they included) I went a head and bottle conditioned these for two weeks and have gotten nothing but good reviews, and will definitely order this again, in the 5 gallon size. I only have two gripes about this kit, first the price is pretty similar the the 5 gal kit, you definitely are not saving any money by going with this volume. And second, the recipe calls for 0.4 oz of hops but they give you a whole 1.0 oz bag so you will need to use a scale or eyeball the right amount of hop pellets for this brew.

Another great recipe kit from NB! I added orange peel, lemon peel, coriander, and sage during the boil, and the flavor was fantastic!

Great fun

This was my third brew, NB makes it easy with complete kits. Brewed, bottled, shelled and finally tasted the fruit of my labor. Great! Not really labor, but enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Course waiting to experience the results takes patience, but worth it.

Great Kit (But Pre-cut the Fizz Drops)

Easy to follow recipe that led to a great beer. The only challenge is that the fizz drops are generally too large to fit through the necks of standard beer bottles.
