Quality ingredients.

If you’re reading this, you obviously appreciate good beer. Or someone in your life does. Which means you need a starter kit with truly high-quality beer ingredients:

Starter Kit Options:

Block Party Amber Ale: Gather up the neighbors and block off the streets, it's time to bring out some pints! Deep garnet glow. Friendly flavors of toasty bread crust, caramel, and an inkling of floral and herbal hop character. A true crowd pleaser.

Chinook IPA: American IPA beer kit. Lighter in body than our other IPAs. Lower gravity, which enhances bitterness + reduces aging requirements. Reddish-gold. Thick, resinous Chinook aroma that lingers after the glass is emptied. View recipe

Hank's Hefeweizen: "Hefe" means yeast, "Weizen" means wheat. Long ago in the south of Germany, the two combined to create this tasty sought-after wheat beer. This popular non-hoppy Hefeweizen beer recipe kit delights a wide range of beer lovers with its medium body and effervescence. Fill a stein and serve with a slice of lemon. Prost!

Use testing equipment to measure the progress of your fermentation and precisely test your final ABV.

Homebrew Starter Kit

The quality of the Northern Brewer starter kit was great and included everything I needed to get started. I chose the Block Party Amber Ale with the kit. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I am an amber ale fan, and the Block Party Amber Ale was excellent. I have since brewed West Coast Radical Red and it is currently bottled and conditioning. Some suggestions for someone starting out. I did my first brew on the kitchen stove which is a smooth top range. It took forever to boil the initial 2.5 gallons, and then again after adding the malt to bring back to boil. If you have a propane or natural gas stove you'd probably be fine. I purchase a 3-legged propane burner and did my second brew on it. Brew day was definitely improved with this addition which saved a lot of time. I also added a 50 bottle tree and bottle rinser to make the chore of cleaning and sanitizing easier. I highly recommend Northern Brewer for the equipment, great directions, and very informative videos and articles.

Almost Everything You Need

As the title says - With this kit and your own bottles, you can create your own brew in just a few weeks. I will say I wasn't prepared for how tedious bottling 40+ individual bottles would be, but you can make it a bit easier on yourself by getting flip-top bottles that are a bit larger than the standard 12oz. Some of my bottles were inconsistent in flavor, but I am chalking that up to it being my first brew and just getting a feel for it. The equipment is all great - would totally recommend for anyone getting started with home-brewing.

Great product, kit is gateway to a wonderful hobby

The Brew Share Enjoy kit had everything I needed with clear, well-written instructions and quality equipment. I especially liked having the gallon measurements printed on the side of the 5-gallon buckets, which was helpful in all stages of brewing. I already had the one-gallon kit and had brewed two batches with it but I should have purchased the five-gallon kit instead. The exact amount of work goes into making five gallons of beer as one gallon of beer. Pretty easy choice. I brewed and bottled in my kitchen and everything went well. I recommend new brewers like myself to thoroughly review the $5.00 Brewing 101 course before completing their first batch. I also found that purchasing a brewing thermometer for monitoring the wort and a wall thermometer for the room where I stored the fermenting beer was very helpful. The beer was excellent. Just like tomatoes from your own garden, your own homebrew tastes better than anything you can get from the grocery store.
