Classic Cherry Soda Extract
That sweet cherry flavor in a soda. Yields four gallons; recipe included with extract gives ingredient proportions for any increment.
My family and I started drinking Cheerwine, which is a soda from Down South I think is primarily cream soda with a splash of cherry. I used this to add to the cream soda extract I also will be reviewing. With all cherry extracts, you have to be careful of adding too much or it WILL taste like cough syrup. This has a strong cherry odor so I would add a little, stir, taste, and repeat until getting the right cherry flavor. Soda making is so much fun for the family! My kids want to make all kinds of soda now that I've introduced them to making it. I think part of it too is because I'm a home brewer, they want to be like their dad!
I made one batch of this soda. I did not care for it at all. I will try a different flavor next time.
I might have the wrong idea about the flavor of this soda, but I did not care for it. The recipe and directions were easy to follow. I would gladly try one of the other soda flavors.
I made a 4 gallon batch in a keg. The recommended amount of sugar was way way to sweet for my taste if I were to do it it again I would reduce the sugar from 8 cups down to 6.
