Coffee Cream Ale Extract Beer Recipe Kit
Here at Northern Brewer we are coffee fanatics (we always have cold press on nitro in our break area) and we also love beer. Yes, we know its been done before, but we firmly believe that coffee has a place in an otherwise humble Cream Ale. A modest addition of coffee beans create gentle yet intriguing flavors of dark chocolate, slight roast and a hint of caramel, all without adding the characteristic dark coffee color. Traditional base malts help to create a smooth mouthfeel, and is superbly balanced with just enough hop bitterness and flavor to achieve beer harmony. Normally reserved for stouts and porters, coffee adds a delicious and unexpected twist to this unorthodox Cream Ale recipe. Truly, this is a paradox waiting to be brewed.

The recipe is very solid. However it comes with a 4 ounce bag of coffee beans with instructions to use 2 to 4 ounces in the secondary. I used 4 but I should have used less, as the coffee flavor really overshadowed the cream ale.
It was well received by all who were fortunate enough to drink it. Didn't last long once the keg was tapped. Will be ordering same product again in the future.
I made this kit into a vanilla coffee cream ale. I added 16 ounces of cold french vanilla coffee after fermentation while cold crashing. Came out amazing. Very simple kit and easy to use as a base!
I hope it going to be great, I'll know when its kegged in 3ish weeks
One of the best beers I have made. Used all the coffee provided. You can smell the coffee but the taste is not overwhelming. I will make this one again!
