I'm a novice to cider-making but have made a lot of beer over the years. I like a fairly dry cider, but not as dry as this mix was after primary and secondary fermentation. Added the entire pomegranate extract, which I like and didn't add much sweetness. The sweetness package, of which I added 1/3 made it too sweet for me, but worse, gave it a funny fake sugar taste. Guess I'm not a fan of sucrolose. Also, the fizz drops were too big to fit in any bottles I have (assume they aren't supposed to be dissolved first). So I added priming sugar instead for the carbonization, and we'll see what the final product tastes like in a couple weeks.
Still in the carbing stage, but sampled the cider when bottling and it was great. Very easy to make, I will definitely get another one or two of these!
I changed the recipe a bit by adding raking after 2 weeks. Total time in carboy - 4 weeks, enough to let the sediment to settle and the cider to clear. After a week in the bottle the cider was already delicious and it's getting better with time. Thank you, great product!
Tried half the pom extract, still tart, so I added the full bottle. I like my ciders sweet, but not that sweet. Assumed wrongly that I wouldn't be given enough of the extract than when mixed all together it would put me in a diabetic coma. I was wrong. Going to half to even it out with a regular cider and hope that helps.
