Product details

The 3G FastFerment is your all-in-one fermentation solution.

Eliminate 80% of sanitizing and cleaning with this affordable all-in-one conical fermentor. Conduct all stages of fermentation in this single vessel. Remove the trub from the bottom of the fermentor instead of transferring all your liquid to secondary. No siphons, no secondary fermenting vessel to sanitize, no extra bungs and airlocks.

FastFerment produces dramatically better results. Start each batch by letting debris settle out into the collection ball before pitching your yeast! Remove the debris, and pitch into ultra-clear wort. Plus, FastFerment minimizes the risk of oxidation and contamination by eliminating the need to transfer to a second vessel, preventing off-flavors and infection. Keep your batch safe from external spoiling factors by keeping it in one place.

Perfect for making beer, wine, or cider.

Three gallons is the perfect sized fermenter

Although not big enough for a lot of the 6 gallon kits, it is perfect for fun projects. It is light enough to move around if needed, short enough to see in after removing the lid when stored on a counter, and small enough to make cleaning and sanitizing a breeze. It’s a great size for home picked wild plums or berries or trying a new juice blend. It makes about 15 bottles of wine which is just fun as the bigger batches start becoming monotonous work. If a batch doesn’t turn out as well as intended it is only 15 bottles, not 30 or more. At first I had troubles getting the lid sealed tight enough for the air locks to bubble then I tried putting a little vegetable oil on the gasket and that worked great and stopped the need for Teflon (thread sealer) tape on the lid. I never had a bit of troubles with leaks or cross threading so I think carelessness might be the real issues for the leakers and cross threaders. I have a tasting port on the 7.5 gallon fast fermenter and love it and plan to add one on the 3 gallon fast fermenter.

Fast Ferment 3 gallon

I've only brewed one batch of melomel and overall I'm pretty happy with the fermenter. One improvement would be to use a straight jar rather than a tapered jar. I found I had to use a lot of Teflon tape and really tighten the jar (as well as all the fittings) to keep it from leaking. I then found it to be very difficult to remove. Had the jar not been tapered It would have been easier to grasp or to put a wrench on. I also learned to use a bag for fruit. I initially put all the fruit in a bag but decided to add a few raising later and they caused clogging. Nothing a long wooden skewer couldn't fix, but it would have been a little easier without having to poke around in it. Looking forward to my next batch.

Does the job well

I give it four stars only because there's a lot of extra prepwork involved in getting this going. I had trouble getting the top to seal correctly. Had to use a lot of plumbers tape. It's a little hard to handle due to the shape once full. After that though it worked like a charm, very happy with the results.
