Sabro™ Hops Pellets

Used in place of HBC-438

In making my "pineapple" IPA I could not find my usual HBC-438 Hops. A friend recommended Sabro Hops a substitute. Good call! I got the session-able IPA I came to enjoy every summer. I get a little concerned every time I have to change a favorite recipe. It was unwarranted this time.

Prompt and Top Condition

I had never before used these hops, but was curious because they supposedly taste like coconut. I don't get that at all, and a strong floral character comes through, instead, but that isn't Northern Brewer's fault because the hops arrived promptly and the pellets were in fine condition for my brew day!

My new favorite hop!

I used this hop which was delivered in the Luckiest Man All-Grain Kit. This recipe was what I brewed for my daughter's wedding in May, and it was served at her shower. I cannot tell you how many positive comments I have received on the taste and aroma of that batch! This is now my new "session beer" that appears to be an across-the-board crowd-pleaser. The only tweak was that I dry-hopped in the primary after 1 week instead of in the secondary. The hop flavor and aroma definitely pop with grapefruit and tropical, with no noticeable off-flavors or dankness.
