Why I Use DME Instead of Sugar
After homebrewing for 10 years, I have found recipes with kits that include sugar. I used to follow the re pies and have always had great success with them. But I have a problem with recipes that call for sugar. Sugar does not contribute to taste, it only jacks the ABV (Alcohol By Volume) up. I just like beer to be Water, Malt, Hops & Yeast, so instead of Sugar - I use DME (Dry Malt Extract). Northern Brewer has all of Munton's DME available and these products are excellent. Also, Northern Brewer has exceptional service, which means I can count on them to supply everything I need to brew. Great Products, Great Service!
