Good starter Kombucha kit

I like the wide mouth fermenter because it allows you easier access to your kombucha when you’re bottling or starting fermentation. The spigot can get stopped up sometimes, but it’s still very useful for bottling. I’d recommend this kit if you’re looking for a new kit or if you’re looking to get into it. I would however advise not to do what the instructions say and add vinegar to get your ph down. Most of the experienced brewers also advise against this. Other than that one bad instruction, I’d recommend this kit.

Good starter kit

My first experience with kombucha worked out fine with this kit but there were a couple of things I would change. I found the short, fat jar difficult to work with. It looks nice but I needed to use a heat wrap to maintain an acceptable temperature and placement was a problem. The thermometer that came with looks nice but is hard to read. Fortunately the wrap came with a different style thermometer and I was able to use that. I like having a spigot but now that I know a little more about the process I would give up the spigot and go with a taller narrower jar. Everything else was fine.

Exactly as Advertised and Well Supported

The kombucha starter kit was delivered quickly and was exactly as advertised. As with most Northern Brewer products I have purchased, it was well supported with printed directions as well as online instructions and tips.

Great Kit but came damaged

This is a great starter kit. Unfortunately, the sugar packing had a huge slit in it and the sugar leaked out of the bubbler and into the cardboard packaging. Also, we cracked the bubbler glass while installing the spigot but that was most likely our issue and not an issue with the kit per se. Would have liked the bubbler to be plastic maybe?
