Northern Brewer All Grain Cooler System
We’ve taken our All-Grain Cooler System and added upgrades to provide the best possible brewing experience. The completely redesigned mash/lauter tun features thick insulation, a large 12+ gallon capacity and the first ever integrated thermometer. The large capacity will easily handle any 5 gallon brew you can throw its way, from session beers to Imperials, and it's even large enough to accommodate 10 gallon batches up to a gravity of 1.065.
Featuring all stainless steel fittings including our proprietary bulkhead and Titan False Bottom, this system is designed to last. Steel reinforced and silicone gasketed mounting holes ensure a tight, leak-free hardware fit, and offer easy installation with top of the line brewing performance. Everything you need to mash, sparge and collect wort is included so no additional purchases are necessary. Just provide your boil kettle for a premium, robust brewing system.
The unique geometry of the mash/lauter tun and hot liquor tank makes storing your gear between batches even more convenient. Simply remove the valves and thermometer, and the hot liquor tank will nest perfectly inside the mash tun for the smallest possible footprint for storage.
Includes everything you need to mash and sparge your first All-Grain batch, right out of the box.

NOTE: A full boil is required for All-Grain brewing, so a boil kettle with an 8 to 10 gallon capacity is highly recommended.

There is no video support for the specific assembly of The screen. This has caused issues for me with grain getting under the screen and clogging my mash tun effluent for both of the all grain brews I have done. An email seeking help has gone unanswered. On a positive note, the rest of the system is well constructed and easy to assemble / disassemble.
The mash tun and hot liquor tank both have a weird chemical smell that I haven’t been able to get rid of. So far it hasn’t affected any of my brews, but the smell doesn’t mix well with the malt scent.
So I have only brewed two batches but will say I am satisfied with the system. The mash tun holds temperature nicely , is durable and easy to clean. This system is a must for all grain brewing
First time all-grain brewing by myself and this systems definitely helped. Overall construction is great and the perfect size for what I intended. Like others have noted, the mash tun thermometer was a bit off. Also do yourself a favor and preheat the mash tun with some hot water first before you start. Held temperature well. Was easy to put together, clean and break down. The sparge jet was broken when I received it and NB quickly got me out a replacement in time for brew day!
If this is your first time with an all grain batch, I would recommend this system.
overall got 76% mash efficiency from my first batch with this setup. Not bad for the first time using it. Overall happy with the heat retention and ease of setup. The sparge arm is great, (used with a pump).
Cons: thermometer/thermowell seems to be off a few degrees (I’m going to do a more controlled test on this weekend)
The handle on the mash tun easily ripped the screws out when moving the full mash tun (22 pounds grain in a 10 gal batch) after I was done for the day and cleaning out. I replaced the screws with more robust ones and hopefully it was a one time issue.
This is my 3rd mash tun, I have a 5 and 10gal one that I built DYI and this is a great addition.
