Product details

Sterile blueberry puree can be added directly to the primary or secondary fermenter - do not boil.

Vintner's Harvest Fruit Purees can be used in any beer or wine recipe that calls for fruit. The purees contain no seeds and have been commercially sterilized. Because the seeds have been removed, purees are slightly more concentrated than whole fruit.

Use 10-15% less blueberry puree than called for by recipe. Contains 3 lbs, 1 oz of puree.

Fantastic puree!

I used 2 cans of this in my blueberry IPA. I was originally going to use 3 but was recommended to use 2. I liked the ease of just popping it open and dumping it into my Grainfather Conical fermenter. Secondary fermentation kicked in within a couple of hours.

It is a little tart (as blueberries are) so I will sweeten it next time I brew it.

The color is fairly dark and the beer isn't clear as it would be with just using real blueberries (I know this as my buddy used 7lbs of real blueberries in his).

His beer has been described as: Beer with Blueberry flavor
Mine has been described as: Blueberry with beer flavor.

I am very happy over all with this product and will be doing the blueberry again and also will order the raspberry as I want to do a chocolate raspberry stout soon.

For blueberry lovers...

Added this to an American wheat beer batch to make a really good blueberry wheat. Subtle but noticeable blueberry flavor marries up nicely with smoothness of the wheat beer. I used 3 lbs for a 5 gallon batch as recommended to me by the NB pros.

Worked well in my blueberry sour ale

Made a blueberry sour ale using this in secondary and the blueberry flavor really came through. Was a bit rough around the edges initially (seemed to clash a bit with the yeast) but after 3 weeks in the bottle it's sublime.
