Created in 1971, the Super Tuscan style blends the fine, dusty tannins and tart cherry of Chianti with the bold, forward fruit and deeper grip of Bordeaux. Full-bodied and dry, with farm fresh raspberries, bright red cherry and blackberry fruit, licorice, and spice complemented by zesty acidity, and a long, generous finish, rounded out with black pepper, vanilla and sweet oak.
Acidity makes this a natural with tomato sauces and tannin tackles any rich or unctuous food. Try it with Tuscan style pork roast, lamb shanks braised in herbed tomato sauce, or a wild mushroom lasagne.

How long does this kit take to get ready to drink?
A shopper on Mar 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have only processed 2 RJS En Primeur wine kits so consider my experience to be limited. This is what I can tell you. I used approximately 8 weeks from start to bottling and gave a lot of attention to final de-gassing (at least double what is normally recommended, in 2 steps). I opened my first bottle after 3 weeks and was pleasantly surprised at having a very drinkable quality wine. It obviously gets better with age but mine did not last more than 3 months, still being very drinkable even in this very young condition. My experience with this Super Tuscan and the similar RJS En Primeur Australian Cabernet Sauvignon suggests that extra attention to the stabilization period to include full degas, syphon, second full degas, followed by 35 to 40 days prior to bottling helps to achieve a product that is drinkable at a very young age.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Glad to help.
