Product Details
Quickly cool larger batches down to yeast pitching temperature and reduce the chance of contamination. 50’ stainless steel coil construction is easy to clean and will not corrode like other metals.

No need to sanitize. Simply drop your clean chiller into the kettle a few minutes before the end of the boil and it will be ready to go. When done, spray clean and never worry about corrosion again.

Brew with peace of mind like never before. Drop-angle connections provide insurance against contamination. Surprise leaks stay outside your kettle and away from cooling wort. Ensure secure tubing with proprietary barbed fittings. Eradicate shooting streams of water that make a mess in your brew cave. Do away with ill-fitting hose clamps on mis-shapen chiller connections.

Maximize flow and minimize fuss. The Silver Serpent® drop-angle eliminates kinked tubing. No more hassling with propping up water hose. Tubing can now hang tension-free, kink-free and problem-free.

Standard garden hose connection allows for brewing outside or connects to a laundry sink faucet as your chilling water source. Use the optional Faucet Adapter to connect your Silver Serpent® to a standard kitchen faucet when brewing inside.

Dimensions: 9 inches wide, 24 inches tall to the bend, 8” coil height, 3/8 ID tubing

Silver Serpent 50'
The immersion chiller looks just like the photo in the catalog. It performed just as expected if not better. No water leaks at the hose connections and my 6.5 gallons of boiling wort was cooled to 80 F in less than 14 minutes. I live along the gulf coast so city water temp is probably around 70 F. Great product with easy clean up.

I would recommend this unit for other wort dwellers in the world
Good strudy unit, i used garden hose for water source, took 45 minutes to go from 166 to 83degrees.
Next time would use a cooler of ice to run the hose through multiple times to cut down on the chill down time. It was easy clean up very little scrubbing just use warm water Light soap to clean it up with. I would recommend other people to use this unit to chill down there wort.

Great Product
I am not using this as a wort chiller rather as part of my HERMS setup where I place this in my HLT. Northern Brewer scores again.

It's fine
Once I added a 50-ft copper coil in an ice chest as a water chiller going into my Silver Serpent... in Summer, my water T is about 68 or 70...getting from 212 to 90 was easy, but from 90 to 72 was impossible... now, I'm chillin like a villain.

Can't imagine a chiller can get much better than this. Maybe smaller but not better.
Works quick and fits perfect in the 15 gallon mega pot. One of the factory hose clamps leaked and required a special tool to tighten but just put on standard hose clamps on next to it and it's back to no leaks.

Will this work in the 8 gal tallboy kettle?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It will definitely fit but it’s not going to be very efficient you’re better off with a plate chiller if you’re brewing more then 5 gallons if you’re brewing 5 gallons in a 8 gallon pot then you’re fine other wise a plate chiller would be best anything over 5 gallons will take to long to cool effecting the end result
Will this work in the 8 gal tallboy?
Carie K on Nov 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 8 gallons is a lot to chill with this device. Depends on how cold the water is. In my case, it's consistent with ground temps, so about 50 degrees. Takes about 10 mins to chill 5 gallons from a roiling boil down to 90 degrees or less. I've used it to chilled 6+ gallons as well, but the cool time lengthens exponentially. My guess is that for 8 gallons, I would be looking at 30-40 mins. And this assumes I'm constantly lifting and dunking - which also means exposure and risk of infection. So, my recommendation is that unless that ground water is at 40 degrees or so, you should use a larger chiller.
Will this work in a 15 gallon keggle?
A shopper on Aug 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Fits perfectly, has some room to spare it you want the 20 gallon kettle too.
Will this work in a 15 Gallon keggle?
A shopper on Aug 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It sure will. I run the incoming water through an ice bath in a cooler and then through this chiller. Takes the temp down in a 15 gallon SS vessel to about 90 degrees in less than 30 minutes post boil. Your results may vary.
Is the stainless tubing seamless? Anybody have experience using this as a HERMS coil?
A shopper on Mar 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The tubing has no visible seams. We have been using the coil for cooling 10 gallon batches and it works quite well.
Is this wort chiller made with 1/2" or 3/8" stainless steel tubing?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2018
Can you tell me about the end connectors? 3/8" Barb to 1/2" NPT? To 3/8" Compression... I would like to change the Barb Connection to a Quick Disconnect Male for Quick Disconnect tubing making this a dual purpose Wort Chiller (15 GAL tank) and Wort Heater (inside a HLT) for multi-stage mashing.
