El mejor lupulo para las American IPA's !!!

I'm sure you've noticed these are always out of stock...
...Yeah, there's a real good reason for that! The very best IPAs I have brewed all had Simcoe in them to some capacity. A super flavorful true dual purpose hop. Works great as a FWH all the way through the process to a randalizer on the way to your pint glass. This hop hits all 4 flavor zones of the palate (with a hammer) and keeps you begging for more.

What is the best way to store hops (in packages) and how long can I expect them to be good? Thank you!

BEST ANSWER: Hops are best stored cold. Freezer is best for long term (months) but fridge is fine for weeks. I have used hops year old with good results. May need to increase quantity to compensate for loss of buttering acids. Also realize aroma and flavor componentso degenerate first and bittering lives longer. Also t health effects less oxygen exposure, the better the long term storage. If you can seal or leave sealed in mylar bags and better yet purge with CO2 you will have better hops when you open the bag. Also need to consider the style of the beer you will brew with stored hops. Hop forward beers like American IPAS will be impacted most by older hops. Heavier malt beers that do not rely on aroma and flavor as much as buttering are least impacted by aged hops. I have read of some German beers brewed with years aged hops for the intentional aged character.
