Very detailed resource about mead.

This is a great resource; it covers the basics and provides a solid background in mead making - by a person many believe to be a giant of the industry.

It is fair to say that it's dated as techniques have come about recently that can greatly reduce the time required for fermentation, etc. But the book is still well worth the money.

It is old information

Mead making has come a long way since this was written. It should be revised or people should stop recommending it. It is outdated but could be used as a perspective and reference. You should probably buy a newer book.

Excellent no matter the level

A friend of mine got me this book along with a starter kit to begin brewing and I have had no questions, save for the very advanced, that were not answered by this book. Fantastic read with excellent detail on the history of mead and it's researchers in recent history. I've read it several times and learn more with each one!
