I hope you have room for a big pot to put your blow off tube in. If you make a high gravity beer your going to need it. It's a wonderful smelling yeast while it ferments. If you've been looking for a good Belgian yeast then look no further.

Great Belgian Style Yeast
I use this in two of my own recipes and constantly get rave reviews. Versatile yeast that works fast, especially when you create a yeast starter for higher gravities. Solid Belgian Yeast. Period.

A go-to yeast for Belgian styles
A work horse of a yeast for Belgians. Easy in terms of temperature range, attenuates nicely and leaves some nice phenolics. Good for Saisons, Biere de Garde even dubbels. Really can't go wrong with this strain.

My Belgian Pale Ale took 3rd in the oldest homebrew contest in the USA!
Don't bother listening to the previous poster's advice. I'm sorry his beer turned out bad, but it has nothing to do with this yeast strain! This yeast produces wonderful, delicate peppery phenolics when the fermenting beer's temperature is 72*F. As stated above, my beer took 3rd place in the Mayfaire Homebrew Competition, the oldest homebrew comp. in the United States. When I brewed the beer (2 yrs ago) it was my best product to date. Sorry to burst your bubble, "Spunky."

Much better out there
Compared to the 3 other Belgian yeasts I have used , and still store in my fridge, this one is well pretty lame. It needs TLC through different temps, needs coaxed and produces no great flavors, scrap this one !!!!!

Is there a good dry alternative to this yeast?

BEST ANSWER: I would recommend trying T-58 by Safbrew as a dry alternative.
