A classic ESB strain from one of England's largest breweries. This yeast is best suited for English style ales including milds, bitters, porters, and English style stouts. This yeast will leave a beer very clear, and will leave some residual sweetness.

We strongly recommend ordering dry yeast in the summer months. We do include complimentary Cold Ice Packs with all liquid yeasts. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will survive the trip, given transit times and particularly hot temperatures.

White Labs yeast
I was very satisfied with the yeast I recently received from you. It was within 30 days of packaging so it built a great starter and when I pitched it the lag time was only 3 hours. Obviously very happy / healthy yeast.

Yeast container
New yeast container worked great, no more tube to deal with.

Way exceeded my expectations
Awesome yeast. I'm thinking about making it my go to British yeast.

WLP002 is what I needed
I didn't use White Labs Yeast very much but now my two favorites is 002 and 007.

Awesome yeast, likes a D-rest.
Awesome, vigorous yeast. Nice versatile English character. This yeast sediments out quickly and completely for a super clear beer (if good practice is followed, and if the grain bill doesn't have hazy ingredients).Be sure to do a diacetyl rest if you're fermenting on the low end - you'll be hard pressed to keep this yeast roused into the beer if you need to clean up butter.

Egg Drop Soup
This is my go to English yeast. Great for low gravity beers where you want some residual sweetness and body. I've won gold several times using this yeast in a Mild. Also makes a great Oatmeal Stout and oh yeah, ESB.Highly flocculant, looks like egg drop soup on the stir plate.

Great Result
Used this with the All Grain Cream Ale Kit. Mashed at 1491/4 for 60 min. to produce a lighter bodied, more fermentable wort and it worked great. This yeast really settles out super clear! Achieved 4.8% ABV with 8 lbs. of grain. SG- 1.042, FG 1.005! That's right 1.005! Probably the best "Lawnmower" beer I've made so far .... I'm sure it won't last long.

Good English style yeast
Excellent yeast. English character can be tart, almost apple-like. Decent flocculation over time. Beers best drunk sooner than later, as it seems to lose freshness faster than 001.Cables- Just to be sure, White Labs is not your issue. I've been using them for 6 years now without any problem. I've only had problems with the mishandling of yeast upon it's arrival too me, which is not their fault.

Good stuff
Good English style yeast if you want a higher finishing gravity. Lends to a full bodied sweeter beer.

What is the volume of the homebrew size package? I want to know how many cells I'm starting with, since I only got one pack and need to ramp up for a big batch. Chris White says 2.5 billion cells per ml, but how many ml?
J K on Oct 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Pure Pitch packs are 35ml
