A dry fermenting, true top cropping yeast which produces a dry, slightly tart, crisp beer, in American hefeweizen style.

We strongly recommend ordering dry yeast in the summer months. We do include complimentary Cold Ice Packs with all liquid yeasts. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will survive the trip, given transit times and particularly hot temperatures.

Is good!!
In my home brewery, we use this yeast for two styles of beer that we make. Why? It's very forgiving of temperature and has some wonderful characteristics. The crisp/dry flavor really sets off honey or fruit flavors you we add to our wheat beers. Love this stuff!

Great Yeast!
This yeast made a fine American Hefeweizen. I grew up a starter on a stir plate and it went crazy. Produced a thick, creamy krausen like the head on a root beer float. The finished beer is extremely smooth with great mouthfeel and finishes clean with a hoppy bite. Just like those Brothers in Oregon.

Great Yeast
This yeast made a clean light wheat beer. It made a crisp, tart wheat beer while still maintaining the yeasty character of a wheat beer. Im drinking the beer I made with it right now. Delicious.

Successful Raspberry Wheat
Worked great in a Raspberry Wheat with 3lbs. of fresh raspberries. Produced a slightly tart, but crisp beer. A little dry on the finish, but worked well with the style. Fermentation took off quick and lasted a full week (plus another two days in the secondary when I added the berries). Held my temp. between 64-66 degrees F. Will definitely use this yeast again for future fruit & wheat beers.

Get your blowoff ready!
I'm currently using this yeast with a sour mash apricot ale. I can't believe how active this yeast is! Primary fementation took off within an hour. I needed a blowoff tube for the first time in a long time with this one, and when I added the apricot to the secondary fermenter it quickly took off again strong!

Pumpkin Wheat
I used this to make a clone of Shipyard Pumpkinhead. I also added to the recipe 10# roasted pumpkin. This thing bubbled like crazy. Day 2 I had to put a blow off tube on it. This is still in the secondary and I am anxiously awaiting my first taste of this fall adult beverage!

Forgot to refrigerate the yeast pack. Still sitting in the brew box...can I still use it? Rookie mistake

BEST ANSWER: Cold storage extends the shelf life of liquid yeast. I would smack the pack to see if it inflates- this will be the best way to tell if it is viable or not.
If I forgot to refrigerate the smack pack, can i still use it after a month of sitting in the box?

BEST ANSWER: After about a month those still should be fine to use. Cold storage simply extends the shelf life of the yeast. The smack pack allows you to check the viability of the yeast to ensure it is still good. If the pack doesn't inflate within 4 days of activation

the yeast is not viable.
